VJAndyRifco’s Creative Associate Andy Kumar has joined a host of celebrities in India’s Bigg Boss house.

Produced by Endemol India, Bigg Boss is the Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother and is one of India’s most watched shows. Hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, the reality show started off with 14 celebrity contestants who are competing to stay in the house for 104 days and be crowned the winner.

Two weeks into the challenge and Andy is proving to be a popular housemate, keeping the house entertained with his dance moves and witty one-liners. However, due to a cruel twist he is up for nomination this week.

Andy has been a core member of the creative team at British Asian Theatre Company Rifco for over thirteen years as Choreographer and Costume Designer. He has worked on a number of Rifco shows, including Bollywood Yet Annother Love Story, The Deranged Marriage, There’s Something About Simmy and Britain’s Got Bhangra. More recently Andy choreographed Break The Floorboards which is a finalist for ‘Best Live Event’ at the Asian Media Awards.

Originally from Berkshire, he moved to Mumbai eight years ago and has since become a well-known TV host – VJ Andy and is recognised as the face of Channel [V], India’s youth channel. Andy has also hosted popular shows like Beauty and the Geek India, Dare to Date, Date my Folks, U R Fired and Get Gorgeous.

As Costume Designer he has worked on a number of Bollywood films including Yashraj Films’ Tashan and Bachna E Haseeno. Also choreographing for Page 3, Aloo Chaat, Nazar, and Ram Gopal Varma’s James. He has also choreographed hit music videos such as Kaliyon Ka Chaman (Universal), Naache naache (Times Music), Yeh Kya Hua (Sony Music). Andy’s other choreographing credits include Fashion shows for premier Indian designers such as Suneet Verma, JJ Vallaya and Nadita Mehtani.

Last year Andy provided creative support on Rifco’s MummyJi Presents, which was commissioned by The Space (BBC and Arts Council of England). This year MummyJi Presents returns to Watford Palace Theatre 7th to 9th November, for more entertainment, performances and laughter but without Andy, since he’s in the Bigg Boss house!

Bigg Boss is available to view in the UK on Colors, Sky channel 829 and Virgin 826 at 9pm everyday. www.colors.in.com/biggboss
