When Akon toured in Mumbai it was a sell-out show, as fans across India flocked to go and see the singer perform live on stage. Although his antics of grinding with a popular Indian VJ didn’t go down too well, his musical talents have continued to impress audiences and the Bollywood film Industry. Shah Rukh Khan’s big Diwali release ‘Ra.One’ features two songs sung by Akon, but Bollywood stills wants more of Akon!
Speaking recently to reporters, Bhushan Kumar, owner of massive music company 'T-Series,' told The Times of India he was completely blown away by Akon's singing
in Hindi and was hoping to do an album with him: "I am planning to get Akon to come to India and do an album for us,"
Continuing to speak about the music of 'Ra.One,' he went on to say, "The music is a sure-shot chart-buster. Shah Rukh is involved in every aspect of his films. The music is massy and Chammak Challo will be an anthem!"…Well it already is in our eyes! The song is doing immensely well and Bollywood fans just can’t seem to get enough of it.
Bhushan first brought the music rights of a Shah Rukh Khan starrer in 2002 for the movie 'Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam, and have since working together for eight years now. Ever since then he has always brought the music from a movie that King Khan has starred in, saying that, "My company has never made any losses when they have taken up a Shah Rukh starrer."
'Ra.One' will be in cinemas on the 26th of October 2011.
