It seems it’s a major craze for Hollywood stars to make their biggest announcements on the social networking site Twitter these days, and now Bollywood’s biggest legend Amitabh Bachchan has joined that craze by announcing that he is going to be a grand-father.
The ecstatic film star proudly announced “NEWS NEWS NEWS!! I AM GOING TO BECOME A GRANDFATHER .. AISHWARYA EXPECTING .. SO HAPPY AND THRILLED!!!”.
He went on to say on his twitter page, “The child of Abhishek and Aishwarya shall be the first Bachchan of the generation after my brother and me…”
His announcement led to thousands of messages within minutes being sent to the Big B of Bollywood 
and his son Abhishek from well-wishers on Twitter.
It seems Amitabh Ji picked the perfect time to make his announcement, just days before the IIFA weekend kicks off. Amitabh Bachchan and his family have a long legacy with IIFA , after all it was the Bachchan’s who had spearheaded the event. And Amitabh Bachchan himself used to be the brand ambassador of IIFA; but more recently there seems to be some controversy and he has refused to be involved. As Ikonz had recently reported Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Abhishek too had opted out of attending this year…and now we know why!
Rumours in the Bollywood grapevine suggest that the family knew of Aishwarya’s pregnancy over a month ago, but Amitabh Ji waited until today to make his announcement.
"Aishwarya expecting, is a bigger news and will be a talk of town during the IIFA too. As even without Bachchan family's absence, their presence will be felt throughout. I must say, it is a sweet revenge by Bachchans," a renowned film critic and a trade analyst told reporters.
