Legendary Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh sadly passed away earlier this morning (October 10th 2011) after being in a critical condition for more than two weeks.Jagjit Singh underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai on Friday 23rd September 2011 after suffering brain haemorrhage. Doctors at the hospital performed an emergency surgery on Jagjit Singh. His condition after surgery was described as "critical" and doctors continued to monitor him in the intensive care unit. He is breathing with the aid of a ventilator, but sadly his lost his battle – leaving the the Bollywood & Music industry and his fans mourning for their loss.
As news of Jagjit Singh's death spread across the world, messages of support and sheer sadness began pouring in from celebrities and fans on twitter and facebook.
One of the most successful and loved artistes of his time, he has left behind a huge body of work in a career spanning five decades, including 80 albums.
R.I.P Jagjit Singh….you'll be sadly missed but shall live on in your wonderful music….
