Upcoming Bollywood actress Meenakshi Thapar, who was due to star in a small role in the film ‘Heroine’ has been killed in horrific circumstances after being kidnapped for ransom in Mumbai, by fellow co-stars – reports suggest.

Reports just in, claim that Meenakshi was kidnapped for a ransom fee of up to £20,000, but only £730 was paid so she was strangled and beheaded by her kidnappers.

News from Mumbai states that Meenakshi Thapar, 26, was kidnapped by Amit Jaiswal and his lover Preeti Surin after meeting the pair on the set of her latest film, ‘Heroine’.

The kidnappers are reported to have sent a message to Meenakshi’s mother demanding 1,500,000 Rupees (£18,000) and threatened to make her daughter take part in porn films if the money was not paid.

A detective leading the inquiry told The Daily Telegraph: “They wanted to extort money from her family. They have confessed to the crime.”

The desperate mum is believed to have paid 60,000 Rupees (£730) for her release but she was never seen again. She was reportedly strangled to death and beheaded before her body was dumped in two different locations.

The leading detective went on to say, “She was strangled in a hotel and her body was hacked into pieces and thrown in a water tank. They threw her head from a moving bus while travelling back to Mumbai.”

Murderers Jaiswal and Surin have confessed to the killing after they were caught in possession of Meenakshi Thapar’s mobile phone sim. Police reportedly said the couple had fled to Mumbai from their home in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh after their affair was discovered by Jaiswal’s wife.
