Witnesses identify Salman for hit-and-run
The on-going case has seen a development today in court as two witnesses identified actor Salman in the 2002 Mumbai hit-and-run case.
Witnesses Munnu Khan and Muslim Sheikh both confirmed in court that they saw the Bollywood superstar drunk behind the wheel of his Toyota Land Cruiser.
In September 2002, Salman was allegedly driving a car that ran over a group of people sleeping on the pavement outside a bakery in suburban Bandra. One person was killed and four others were injured in the accident. The retrial had begun on April 29th with the partial deposition of one witness.
If the court convicts Khan, then he could be in jailed for up to ten years in prison. The trial is set to continue.
