Ikonz World was lucky enough to speak to the legendary Amitabh Bachchan about his upcoming film, 'Bhuddah Hoga Tera Baap'. The actor spoke to us about his character in the film, how he thinks Indian cinema has changed over the years, what advice he has given his son & daughter-in-law and about always keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

It's been an absolute pleasure to interview Mr Bachchan, a man who has remained humble and unfazed by the demanding industry he works in.

Interview conducted by Reena Combo

IKONZ: What attracted you to the role in ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap?’

AB: It was a fun film, with all the ingredients of a commercial cinema and  a first time director for me.

IKONZ:What do you think people will most love about your character in the film?
AB:I think his flamboyance and his attitude. He is a cool, collected and edgy guy.

IKONZ:From the synopsis of the film it seems there’s quite a bit of action…what was it like doing the action scenes again?
AB:Yes there are action many scenes in the film, and honestly speaking they are a problem for me physically…but once committed to something you have to keep going.

IKONZ:Your character in the movie seems to go on an emotional journey as he comes face-to-face with his past. Was there anything on a personal level that you could relate to on the journey that ‘Vijay’ went on?
AB:In the film there is an emotional track and that can only be revealed after the film is released…you will have to wait and see.

IKONZ:You still seem to have a great physique and look as dashing as ever. What’s your secret?
AB:I think that is actually a misconception. I try to keep myself fit under the circumstances, that’s all/

IKONZ:You and Hema Malini Ji have a great on-screen chemistry. What was it like working with Hema Ji in this movie?
AB:There has always been a certain grace and dignity in whatever Hema ji has done and that has worked beautifully in all the films that we have done together.

IKONZ:You have sang the Official Sound Track to ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap’…what was that like? (even though I know this isn’t the first time you’ve sang for one of your films)
AB:I am not a singer, so there are huge problems for me when asked to do playback singing. But with friends like Vishal & Shekhar there is a rapport which makes the job look easy. Also there are wonderful machines now that put even the most out of tune singers in tune!

IKONZ:Do you still get nervous when you start a new film?
AB:Yes, Everytime!

IKONZ:As someone who has worked in the industry for so long, how have you seen the Indian Film industry emerged?
AB:Technically we have advanced hugely, though I cannot say the same for the written work or the content…

IKONZ:I have had the pleasure of interviewing you in person at the IIFA’s in Yorkshire a few years back and got see spend a lot of time in your company over those few days; the one thing I loved the most about you was that you were so humble. I have interviewed many younger actors and they just don’t have that sincerity you have and seem to carry a lot of arrogance. As a legend within this industry how do you keep your feet firmly on the ground and not let your status get in the way of your personality?
AB:When I have no status, where is the question of keeping my feet firmly on the ground. They were always there and shall remain so…

IKONZ: Well said Mr Bachchan…..!

IKONZ: The same goes for your son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya. What words of wisdom have you given them about this industry?
AB:I have not given any wisdom to anyone. Hard work will not be ignored and a good temperament will always be respected.

IKONZ: What are you hoping will be the audience’s reaction to this film?
AB:Good I hope!

IKONZ: What projects do you have lined up after to ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap’?
AB:There is ‘Aarakshan’ by Prakash Jha after this and then some in the pipe line which are still in formative stages.

IKONZ: Finally, a message for all the Ikonz readers and your fans reading this interview?
AB:Thank you for your love, affection, your continued support and your dedication with me for so many years.

Ikonz would like to Thank Amitabh Bachchan who took time out of his very busy schedule to let us interview him.
