There’s a popular saying, ‘You can’t please everyone’, and that phrase is particularly suited when it comes to the announcement of awards. On Thursday 23rd August 2012 the nominations list for the Brit Asia TV Awards were announced at The Vaults in Birmingham…leaving some people pleased, and others in shock.
A big congratulations to all of the nominees of the night including the legendary Manmohan Waris, Jazzy B, Sukhshinder Shinda and Honey Singh who are all up for the highly acclaimed BritAsia TV Music Awards this year on the 6th October at the NIA in Birmingham.
An artist present on the night seemed surprised by one category in particular. “I’m shocked at The Beat Male Category, like what’s going on there? Agreed a couple of those names deserve to be there, but not sure about the rest and there are a few massive names who’ve done a lot for the industry and had huge releases who aren’t even mentioned? Shocked man! It’s a joke!”
Another media related source on the night said they felt the awards reflected music today and liked the fact that they were so varied.
Whatever anyone’s thought may be towards the nominations we know we’ll all be locked on the night to see who the winners are.
